If you request your image to be an exact print size, the image you send may have to be cropped if they’re not in the same proportion as your requested print size. We will take every care to crop your images in a sympathetic manor, if you’re worried about the crop and how much of the image you will lose, let us know and we will send you a low resolution image of the layout via email before printing, you can then see how we have cropped your image to achieve your desired print size.
If you order a sheet sized print and require a border inside the sheet, your image maybe need cropping to give you an even border around the image, if you ask for no crop, we’ll give you uneven borders around your image.
Here are some examples using Claude Monet’s The Japanese Footbridge.
Here’s the original image.
An A4 print is required, so we crop the bottom of the image to retain the bridge.
This time a square is required, so the left and right of the image is cropped away, this has meant the signature has been cropped in to. Sometimes we can move or remove signatures.
An Overall Sheet Size (A4) and no crop means the image is placed centrally with uneven borders to the left and right.
