We work and print from Adobe Photoshop, this means we can print from most common image types;
Images can be CMYK or RGB, there is no need to convert your images from one to the other – leave them as your default working colour. We recommend Adobe RGB (1998) if you’re working in RGB. We have ICC Profiles available if you want to soft proof and embed them into your images.
We print at 360dpi and your images should be saved at 360dpi at the print size you require, if an image needs to be substantially enlarged then if needed, we can print to 180dpi to reduce any loss in quality due to over stretching an image.
Some image formats such as Adobe Photoshop PSD and PSB files as well as TIFFs will allow you to save your images and retain the layers, if you want to use these file formats and work with multi layered files, please create a separate flattened version for us to print from.
The majority of formats listed above will not give you any options for compression, however JPEG does, it’s the most popular format of image we receive and one that we recommend using. When saving your image as a JPEG, please select the highest possible quality – which will be the lowest compression level – this will therefore not affect the quality of your image.
We will not automatically apply any sharpening to your image, please make sure your image is sharpened to your liking, if you are unable to do this, add this as an additional instruction when ordering and we’ll be happy to sharpen your image for you before printing.
We’re happy to resize your image to your specifications and we will let you know before printing if the image you send is able to be resized to the print size you request. If your image is too small, we will let you know and we will also let you know the largest possible size.
