Earth Day 2024

If you’re an artist or photographer who offers prints and would like to know how to reduce your carbon footprint this Earth Day, we’re here to help. Let us share our knowledge and practices to help you make a positive impact.

As one of the few Carbon-Neutral studios in the UK, we take responsibility for the carbon created by our studio. We achieve this by offsetting these emissions through Gold Standard and UN-approved schemes. These schemes involve activities such as tree planting, reforestation, and deforestation projects both in the UK and abroad.

In 2021, we installed 21 solar panels on the roof of our building. In the warm summer months, we generate almost all the energy we require each day to produce your orders. During the colder winter months, we source our energy from sustainable sources such as solar, wind, and hydro via a renewable energy supplier.

Since 2020, we’ve been printing on Hahnemühle’s three Natural Line papers, a testament to our commitment to sustainability. These papers, made from materials such as Agave, Bamboo, and Hemp, not only promote a more sustainable path from raw materials to the prints hung on walls around the world, but they also actively use less water and next to no pesticides and fertilisers during their growing process. This means your prints are not just eco-friendly, but also of the highest quality. You can read more about each paper and its environmental benefits here;

Our commitment to sustainability isn’t a one-time effort but a continuous journey. We use eco-friendly packaging materials such as mailbags made from sugar cane, paper tape, and recycled card/paper. We also prioritise the ethical sourcing of materials within our packaging, sourcing from UK companies that share our environmental values and ensuring everything can be easily reused or recycled at the end of its life. We are dedicated to making continuous improvements in the future, ensuring that our practices align with the evolving standards of sustainability.

If you’re interested in reducing your print business’s carbon footprint or adopting more sustainable practices, we’re here to help. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions.
